How long does a headshot or portrait session take?

The timing all depends on how many looks and outfits you decide to go with. One look takes anywhere from 30 minutes - 1 hour with studio photo selection.

It's important to get lots of rest the night before coming into the studio. Also, please drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Check out the short article about how to get a perfect headshot. For men: Do not shave or cut your hair the day before the session especially if you've been out in the sun because the color of the skin will be completely different. It's best to get your haircut a few days before the session. For women: We wrote an extensive article about all the tips for women. How do I prepare for a portrait?

The same as for preparing for headshots applies for portrait sessions. It's important to stay hydrated and get enough rest the night before. If you are renting any attire, please make sure to have it ordered and ready in time. Hair and makeup artists are important to have on site at the studio for touch up purposes.

Should I book a makeup and hair artist for my session?

We highly recommend booking a makeup and hair artist for either of your sessions. If you have any blemishes you don't want to show up on the photographs, the artists will work magic on you. A good makeup artist is important to have because you will love how you look and it's easier to retouch makeup that has been done properly and well blended.

When will I receive my photos?

Your headshots will be ready within two business days. Same day turnaround is available for an additional fee. Portrait photographs have a turnaround time of one week.

Do you offer same day turn around?

For an extra fee we can have your photographs ready within the same day.

Will you photoshop my headshot or portrait?

A high resolution image gets the colors corrected. A fully retouched image takes more work and time as we retouch the skin, hair and the surrounding area if necessary. There will be an option to purchase additional fully retouched images after the session.

If you need one strong image for LinkedIn or a company profile, a standard headshot session is perfect. If you want a variety of looks (different outfits, crops, and uses like website + speaking + press), book a Portrait session so we can build options. Actor headshots and branding portraits are more style-driven and usually include more “looks,” so if you’re in entertainment or building a personal brand, we’ll guide you toward that direction.
If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll confirm the best choice for you.

A headshot is a mid-chest portrait designed to be clean, professional, and instantly recognizable (LinkedIn, company website, speaking bio).

You’ll pick your date and time, complete your details, and you’ll immediately receive confirmation with prep tips. If you’re booking for a team or need something custom, use the contact form.
Most clients book 1–3 weeks out, but it depends on the season. If you have a deadline (new job, press feature, conference, speaking engagement), book as early as you can—then tell us your due date so we can plan turnaround appropriately.
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll move your session to the next available date. For cancellations, we follow the policy listed in your booking confirmation (because timing, staffing, and reserved studio time matter). If you’re sick or your face is reacting to something (breakout, swelling, etc.), rescheduling is usually the best move—headshots are not the day to “push through it.”
If the session is cancelled or re-scheduled 48+ hours in advance there is no rescheduling fee. Of course of you get sick and need to reschedule we will do our best to do it even less than 48 hours in advance.
