About WASIO faces

We are Sasha and Yaneck, a husband-and-wife team.

We are full-time business owners and parents. Our oldest is Savannah, Lukas the middle child and only boy, and Sofia is our youngest. This is a family photo we took during the springtime in Malibu. Our family isn’t perfect and this is the best up-to-date photo of our family dynamics.

It’s important to know that being parents to three children, our guilty late-night pleasure is eating Ben & Jerry Ice cream when the kids are in bed. Besides indulging in dairy, we also learned to make time for date nights.

The kids aren’t always stoked for us to go but we think it’s a great example to set to show that it’s still important to date one another when married and super busy with life.

How we started WASIO faces

The first day of WASIO faces was on October 30, 2017. We bravely or naively setup our first portable headshot booth in the heart of Manhattan. Not fully sure what to expect, we started offering New Yorkers free headshots. We have video from the first time we setup a portrait booth. Happy to say we’ve come a long way since then.

We dealt with a lot of confused people and were working with minimal time to break the barriers and make people feel comfortable to

  • a) take their headshot

  • b) make them feel comfortable in the concrete street jungle.

The excitement we felt doing these portraits is exactly what we wanted to turn into our full-time career.

History of Our Studios

Even though the first headshots we took were outside, in the beginning, we were mostly taking headshots in our studio. Over the years our studio developed and changed as we grew our business. Quick interesting summary of the evolution of our studio:

  • First studio: 800 sq. ft live-work loft in San Diego. We actually lived in our studio with our two Weimaraners.

  • Second studio: We converted big part of our house in Irvine. Basically majority of our 1800 sq. ft house was our studio and our personal space was the kitchen and small living room. Luckily we had our bedrooms upstairs.

  • Third/Current studio: In 2020 we made a big move in an actual professional studio that’s 1800 sq. ft in a business park by South Coast Plaza We have plenty of space now to meet with our clients in the front showroom and even more space in the warehouse part to photograph headshots and portraits. We can photograph even small groups in our studio.

What we do now

Today, we offer headshots in our studio, on-location nationwide and headshot booths that we travel nationwide for.

It’s so humbling that we get to meet and photograph over 6,000 people per year.

Our mission is to make everyone photogenic and look and feel their best in their photographs.

Awards and Recognitions

In 2021 Yaneck received the Master of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America. It’s the oldest and largest photography organization in the US.

Also, the same year Yaneck received Headshot Crew Associate accolade from one of the best headshot photographers in the world - Peter Hurley

It’s become a passion of ours to capture the fine essence of people.

It’s important to be prepared for an ab workout during your headshot appointment.

We have crafted our jokes to the next killer level.
